Sail On: Yacht Rock in the Pandemic
In the midst of a worldwide Pandemic, Yachty by Nature is finding a way to Sail On! This yacht rock band has been sidelined just as many states are favoring isolation. In fact, the Covid 19 Corona virus has interrupted most jobs, regular life, and non-essential activities. Importantly, just like most, we are searching to find our bearing and continue Yacht Rock for the Pandemic. With so many people quarantined, isolated, and suffering hardship, the yacht rests in dry dock for the time being. Thanks so much for the support and understanding as many shows are in the midst of canceling or rescheduling.
Iceberg Ahead!
As the Coronavirus takes land fall across Europe and into the US, the bad news has been staggering. Like Lionel Richie, we will sail on. That said, we are dealing with the mounting cancellations with as much understanding as possible. In fact, health and safety are taking the wheel for a while and we’re doing our best to ride out the storm. Additionally, we really feel for everyone that is struggling right now and we’ll do our best to entertain from the sidelines. Unfortunately, we began the storm with shows canceled in Scottsdale, Arizona on March 14 and Catalina Island on March 28. It goes without saying that these were hugely disappointing.
Hopefully, we’ll come back from the crisis with a new wave of determination and some new songs to boot. Please send us requests for new tunes and chat with us on social media and continue taht Grade A support! As well, quarantine and isolation are taking a toll. But, in the words from Titanic, This Yacht Will Sail On.
Sail On Sailor
Speaking of which, Captain Carl has found the smooth presenting Yacht Rock Songs for the Pandemic. In fact, he’s posted daily updates matching pandemic situations and the smooth tunes they go with. Moreover, you can find these on YouTube for your viewing pleasure. Check it out to Sail On and recommend a song or two! While dry docked, it was fun to throw some comedy out there and feel the smooth of great songs. Increasingly, the response has been awesome. So set sail with us for the pandemic and we’ll get you through the tough times. Smooth sailing ahead when we sail on again.
Yacht Rock Youtube
Meantime, we added more Yachty by Nature to your binge Netflix watching as well. On March 28, we streamed a concert from 2018 for Watch Parties across the globe. In fact, we had a huge outpouring of support. Superfans and new fans alike were treated to our Ladera Ranch Concert from 7/20/18. Luckily, our friend, Aaron Alvarez took outstanding video of this event and really quality audio. It was awesome!
It was our first time out on the platform and we look forward to going LIVE as soon as we can. For the time being, we added another LIVE concert from last year to this Saturday, April 4 at 6pm PST. Don’t miss the boat as we appear courtesy of our YouTube channel on the posted link here. Our following really enjoyed the camaraderie of the Live Chat and just getting to Get Yachty from the confines of home and the couch. Dance Parties were had across the country as we weather the storm of Coronavirus and attempt to sail on! In fact, the pictures were downright scintillating to look at. Our crowd dressed the part, felt the ocean vibe, and united on the yacht for an amazing YouTube event. As always, we finished with a crescendo of “who likes to party” and the echoes of “Scotty McYachty”!
Rough Seas
As always we’ll keep you posted as shows resume. Moreover, we hope to come to you fully LIVE as soon as possible. But, for the time being, we’ll have to settle for streaming on YouTube and maybe some Facebook or Instagram LIVE. We’re going to make it through this stronger, better, and yachtier than ever so hang in there everybody.
In addition, we appreciate all the love and support for our drummer Big Wave Dave and family so dearly. Tragically, his beloved Shannon Anderson lost her fight with cancer on March 27 and we are truly dealing with some pretty heavy grief here. Keep Dave and family in your thoughts and prayers and thanks so much for all those donations for the Meal Train that everyone helped with! Truly, this was a huge boost for the family emotionally. Shannon loved this band and loved Dave’s passion for the band, she will be missed dearly.
Sail On Again
All in all, we wish everyone smooth seas and fair winds. Although times have been rough, we find a way forward soon enough. It goes without saying, please stay home, wash your hands and be safe and healthy out there. We are in this together and hope to see you all in person soon. Until then, let’s hunker down, watch some yachty shows online. Watch Captain Carl and a few episodes of Yacht Rock for the Pandemic and keep sailing on. It’s just a matter of time before sunsets abound, palm trees sway again and the smooth sounds of Yachty by Nature fill the air of your favorite venue. Unfortunately, shows have been canceled, but there’s plenty ahead for a summer of sailing. Dedicate yourself to those pursuits you haven’t had the time for. Enjoy your family. Watch the shows you’ve missed. And, above all, don’t stop getting Yachty!
