Smooth Music Summer 2023

Smooth Music Summer ’23!

This Smooth Music summer of 2023 is going fast!  In fact, the band has been on fire and concerts in the park have been in full swing.  Since we kicked off a season of smooth at Laguna Niguel on June 23, it’s been a LOVE FEST.  The band returned to Venice West in Los Angeles on June 24. Then on to Garden Grove on June 30 and a quick 4th of July swing to the Bay Area.  Ultimately, Yachty by Nature hit the sand at San Clemente pier on July 6.  What a legendary Yacht Rock Party on the Beach!  In addition, check out this picture of the massive seaside crowd.  Importantly, by the time we got to Africa and later Footloose, the dance party was ON!

Summer Cruise

The smooth summer cruise continued to Simi Valley, Irvine, Sun Valley in Idaho, and Sea Legs at the Beach.  Lots of amazing highlights raising money for Mountain Humane in Idaho and hopping in the Big Wood River with the band ahead of the show!  Soon, we cruised up to Campos Winery near Discovery Bay.  By the time Yachty by Nature cruised back up the coast to San Luis Obispo for SLO Brew Rock, we were ready for a kickass inside venue.  SLO Brew came through with epic sound, a packed house, and a super evening of Yacht Rock.

Hangar OC Fair

Next up, we were really ready to play smooth music on the big stage this summer.  Moreover, when we booked The Hangar, we had been working on connecting with the Orange County Fair forever.  That huge stage and big sound is something the band had always recognized as a crowning achievement to connect with our amazing OC fans.  On August 5, we rocked the house there and hope you enjoy the video of 1,000 plus people in the Hangar with phones lit up and waving to the sound of Scotty McYachty singing Come Sail Away.

We are still reeling from an incredible experience at the Hangar and a packed house.  The sound was absolutely wonderful.  The huge video wall behind us was inspiring and incredible.  In fact, we LOVED seeing so many of our super fans there.  We hope everyone had such a Yachty time and the phones lighting up the night was such a punctuation of that LOVE.  Thank you so much!  In our 7 years of playing that song, we had never seen so many lights.

Smooth Music Rancho Santa Margarita

It was pretty awesome to see the same reaction the next night on 8/6 with our performance at Rancho Santa Margarita.  Take a look at this picture and see if you can see yourself!  Another incredible concert and check Facebook and Instagram for Captain Carl’s jump split off the stage during Africa.  RSM really brought the house down again with a crowd of about 3,000 people.  This is our 4th concert out at RSM and that crowd never disappoints.

Thanks to our hometown crowd for coming out there and don’t forget we’ll be at the Coach House on September 8!

SMOOTH MUSIC – Yacht Rock band

NEXT UP:

  • 8/19 Whisky a GoGo, West Hollywood
  • 8/25 Mozambique, Laguna Beach
  • 8/26 Kahuna Concert for a Cause, San Clemente
  • 9/2 Private Party, Lake Tahoe
  • 9/3 Delta Coves, Bethel Island
  • 9/8 Coach House, San Juan Capistrano
  • 9/9 Gaslamp, Long Beach

To say that this summer of smooth music might be the smoothest in history, may be an understatement.  With last year still having some Covid 19 fallout, this Summer of 2023 is full steam ahead.  In fact, the S.S. Yachty by Nature is gaining momentum at a fast pace.  In February, we said a reluctant and fond farewell to our guitarist of 6 years, Ben Shreddin.  Ultimately, we welcomed new guitarist Wes Coast to the band.  Wes is a fine player, a talented and creative improvisor.  Additionally, he’s hopping in headfirst to the World’s Funnest yacht rock band.  Speaking of which, Ben Shreddin’ said goodbye after a huge show at Pala Casino with a sold out crowd of 900 fans!

Along with learning 100 new songs, Wes is busy adding some new and creative favorites to the setlist too.  We recently added Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder and Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes.  The band debuted those tunes at Biergarten HB to a crowd of 400 and we were so exhilarated to hear the audience gasp at the guitar and keyboard intro to Bette Davis Eyes.  Courtney Cruise absolutely crushed it!  In addition, we premiered a mashup of Boz Scaggs and Dua Lipa AND the song Sunrise by Simply Red.  Too fun!

Summer 2022

If you recall last Summer of 2022, we went from an incredible show at Oracle Park in San Francisco in July to Scotty McYachty coming down with Covid.  We had to cancel our Sea Legs show that Saturday.  Ultimately, it was one of the toughest weekends ever.  Importantly, we hate to let one of our absolute favorite venues down.  We are still so thankful for all the grace and understanding from last year.  This time around a summer of smooth music returned to Sea Legs on July 15.  The schedule has been packed with some amazing dates like Whisky a Go Go, Hangar OC Fair, San Luis Obispo, lots of Bay Area travels and even Sun Valley, Idaho.

Funnest Yacht Rock Band

Over the last few months, the band has traversed the country bringing smooth tunes from sea to shining sea.  As California’s premiere yacht rock band, we played Florida in January for Emeril’s big fundraiser.  Yachty by Nature came back to Florida and played in Orlando for Dish Network’s convention there in May.  As such, we love to travel and turn people on to yacht rock for the first time.  In fact, we had a ton of first-timers come to our show at Knitting Factory in North Hollywood and more recently at Biergarten HB.

The band even jaunted back to the Bay Area and played for a Napa Birthday party.  Nothing like smooth yacht rock music nestled among the grape vines.  It was a beautiful but chilly night out there.  Moreover, it was a relief to then play a balmy evening at the City of Palm Desert and celebrate our resident Gemini, Courtney Cruise’s birthday!  As always, we are adding songs and fun stuff to the show.  The dance party that erupted that night in Palm Desert really showed us how fun it is when audiences respond so electrically to our vibe.  Thank you for such amazing times everybody.  Take a good look at the summer of smooth calendar and hope to see you a few times over the next couple months.

Smooth Music Sailing

As always, here’s a link to our last yacht rock blog post if you’d like to read more about our antics in 2023.  Make sure to hit us up on Bandsintown for a complete calendar.  We also have new merchandise coming out so stay tuned for an update to our store.  We love when our fans represent us well and stay so yachty.  In fact, keep up the good work on wearing those Yachty outfits/attire to the concerts as well.  Lastly, check all of our links at LINKTREE and have an epic rest of your smooth music summer!  Hope to see you all very soon.

Coach House yacht rock!

Coach House on September 8!

Yachty by Nature plays the Coach House on 9/8/23.  In fact, this will be our first concert here at this legendary San Juan Capistrano venue.  Get your tickets here to Come Sail Away with Orange County’s original yacht rock band.  Since 2016, this crew of 6 talented smooth sailors has taken California by gentle storm.  Moreover, they will rock you softly with your favorite 70’s and 80’s soft rock jams.  Hall and Oates, Michael McDonald, Steely Dan, Christopher Cross, Lionel Richie and so much more!  In addition, this will be a homecoming of sorts!  The band got its start at Stillwater Dana Point when no bands in OC were playing yacht rock.  In 7 short years, Yachty by Nature has played all across the country and now gracing the Coach House stage.  It will be super special.

Many of our fans got to see us this summer at the Hangar OC Fair, Sea Legs, and the world famous Whisky a Go Go!  What a ride it’s been.  We even made it to the Bay Area for a few shows and Paso Robles/San Luis Obispo too.  In addition, the park concerts were going off with several thousand in attendance.  It was a busy summer playing Garden Grove, Laguna Niguel, Corona, San Clemente, Concordia, Ladera Ranch, and Rancho Santa Margarita.  Your captains of smooth thank you for all the love out there.  As you know, the music brings us together.  However, the positive vibes and good times of our yacht rock concerts hopefully leave an impression.  Importantly, the Orange County Fair was one special moment in time.  Thanks for mobbing us after the show and bringing so much love!

Yacht Rock at the Coach House

Specifically, we’ll be the very first LIVE yacht rock band to play at Coach House.  There’s been lots of interest at the venue.  But, we are finally playing there as the first smooth band that plays without backing tracks.  As always, THANKS for knowing the difference between live and pre-recorded backing tracks.  With an amazing roster of bands, the Coach House will be a special maiden voyage.  Climb aboard the S.S. Yachty by Nature and Ride Like the Wind to get your tickets.  In fact, lots of our fans saw Christopher Cross play their live last year!

Yachty by Nature

Following the Coach House show, we’ll appear at Gaslamp in Long Beach on Saturday, September 9.  In fact, we play Santa Ana Elks Lodge on 9/15 and then travel to Paso Robles for two nights of a private show at Rava Wines.  Lots of private concerts coming up but we’ll return to Campus Jax on October 6.  South Orange County fans will delight in the annual return of Rancho Fest where we’ll play the pleasure cruise Sunday time slot of 4pm to 530pm.  We close out the Sea Legs beach season a couple weeks later on October 21.  Lots of great music ahead and we hope you can make it to San Juan Capistrano for an epic set at Coach House on September 8.

As always, thank you so much for the love and support!  We are passionate about our love for 70’s and 80’s yacht rock and work so hard to keep the show evolving, and different and awesome.  Importantly, don’t hesitate to reach out with your song requests, ideas, and buy some merch to rep us too!  Cheers 🙂

Yacht Rock Tour 2023

yacht rock tour concert pala lights show captains sailing casino live musicLookin’ to get yachty in 2023?  You’re in luck.  In fact, Yachty by Nature is catching fire here and coming to some great venues soon.  We just began a kickass new year with a huge show at Pala Casino in February!  Moreover, we were the first yacht rock band to book a yacht rock tour there in 2020 but Covid 19 canceled that one.  Therefore, our concert at Pala was 3 years in the making and the sellout crowd made it extra special.  Thanks for being there and hope to SEA you again soon.  Highlight of the night was the disco ball showering everyone in this glimmering light and playing Dancing Queen into Toto’s Africa!  Ultimately, we created some pretty special memories and we hope to be back more San Diego County!

Don’t forget that we had a killer January with a fundraiser in Fort Lauderdale, FL for Chef Emeril Lagasse’s foundation.  In addition, we had sold out shows at Tiki Bar, Venice West, and a fun one at Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert.  We followed up in February with a new venue in Los Angeles:  The Knitting Factory!  And, we just booked another Whisky a GoGo concert for August 19 so stay tuned.

Tour de Force

Now, let’s look ahead to some of our future notable shows that you’ll want to put on the calendar.  The Yacht Rock Tour 2023 will certainly include our beautiful residency at Sea Legs at the Beach beginning April 29.  In fact, Yachty by Nature will come back to the beach for July 15 and October 21 as well.  Our love affair with Sea Legs continues for our 6th year in a row and there’s really nothing quite like Yacht Rock in the sand down in Huntington Beach.  Hope you can join us.

siren morro bay logo yachty by nature yacht rock band show concert may 6Next up, we’ll be docking at the Siren in Morro Bay on May 6.  We’ve long enjoyed our travels to the Paso Robles area for weddings and the Cal Coast Beer venue.  This will be our maiden voyage to Morro Bay and we’ll bring the SMOOTHEST 70’s and 80’s soft rock jams on the West Coast to this beautiful seaside burgh.  Can’t wait to crack open a few oysters and a few yacht rock gems for this Central California crew.  Make plans and get your tickets while they’re available.  Additionally, it’s going to be a super fun weekend in Morro Bay, so get your tickets!

Yacht Rock Tour May

The month of May takes us back to Florida for another corporate show and then a Napa private party as well.  Quite the yacht rock tour indeed!  Moreover, we look to end the month with something truly special in California but you’ll have to wait for our announcement!!!!  June 3 brings us back to the friendly confines of the HB Biergarten at Old World.  Importantly, we begin our concerts in the park for the summer that month.  We kickoff the summer with Laguna Niguel summer series on June 23.  In fact, we follow up that date with a show in Garden Grove on June 29.  Although we won’t be in town for 4th of July, we return for a Concert in the Park in Simi Valley on July 8.

Summer Tour

As July kicks in to summer gear, we’ll come back to the beach on July 15 for a show at Sea Legs!  We follow that up with Campos Winery up in Discovery Bay on July 22.  Importantly, please stay tuned for a huge announcement for the OC Fair on August 5!  You heard it here first :). Additionally, Yachty by Nature will be on tour the weekend of Labor Day this year.  More to come, but we return to the friendly shores of Delta Coves in the Sacramento River Delta.

As always, we are constantly working out new dates and venues.  Thus, keep checking back and follow us on BandsinTown for the latest Yacht Rock Tour calendar dates.  Thanks for all your support and constant fun on social media.  Instagram and Facebook and YouTube are great ways to interact with us and we love all the input/feedback/fun from our fans there.  Keep up the great work, mark that calendar and SEA you soon.

Anchors Aweigh,

Captain Carl
